Christina Ebersohl-Van Scyoc (USA)
Executive Secretary
I am so honored to join the International Viola Society. As the current Editor of the Journal of the American Viola Society, I am fascinated by people and their amazing stories, filling my head with lively dreams and my heart with wild aspirations.
I made my solo debut after my Honorable Discharge from the US Army, where I served as an Arabic Linguist. It has been my greatest honor to bridge both these worlds to collaborate with my colleagues in Egypt and share our passions with audiences around the world.
In addition to performance, I am a passionate advocate, mentoring students and educating institutions on music education for those with disabilities. Inspired by my own experiences as a blind musician, I created the course “Accessibility is Not a Four-Letter Word,” and have presented internationally on accessibility, adaptability, and opening doors for musicians with disabilities.
I am also a Licensed Body Mapping Educator, working directly with students to guide them towards developing healthy movement practices, preventing injuries, and promoting long, sustainable careers.
I look forward to the continued growth of the International Viola Society and the national sections, and the unequivocal prospering of the viola worldwide.
